The Group was founded in late 1969 by Ghanem bin Saeed Matar Al Suwaidi, may he rest in peace. Its journey began with the supply of petroleum products and the chartering of vessels to transport oil from international refineries to customers worldwide. Since then, the Group has continued to develop its maritime fleet, expand its global presence and diversify into real estate development, construction, education, financial and service-sector investments, alongside a range of investment activities around the world.

EMIRATES SHIPPING established
EMIRATES SHIPPING was established, as part of the Group’s continuing journey in marine operations and international shipping.
Business and community
Al Ghanem Building Contracting was established. Manar Al Sabeel was founded in July of the same year.
Expanding into real estate
Al Ghanem Investment & Development was founded, offering integrated investment, development, management and leasing services.
